These tools therefore allow an analysis of your habits in using the Site, for different purposes: execution of IT authentication, session monitoring, storage of information on specific configurations regarding users accessing the server, preference storage, etc.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files sent from the Site to the computer device of the concerned party (usually through the browser), where they are stored and then re-sent to the Site on occasion of the user subsequent visit. A cookie cannot recall any other data from the user hard drive, nor send IT viruses or acquire email addresses. Each cookie is unique for the user’s web browser. Some of the cookie functions may be assigned to other technologies. In this document, the term ‘cookie’ is used to refer both to so-called cookies and all similar technologies.
Cookie technology
Cookies may be of first or third party, where “first party” means cookies that have the site as a domain, while “third party” means cookies that are related to external domains.
Third party cookies are necessarily installed by an external party, always referred to as a “third party”, that is not managed by the site. These parties may also install first party cookies, saving their own cookies on the site domain.
Another type of cookie is the so-called “Flash Cookies” (Local Shared Objects), used within Adobe Flash Player to provide certain contents, such as video clips or animations, in order to remember your settings and preferences. Flash cookies are stored on your device, but they are managed through a different interface compared to the one provided by the browser used.

They are not used for any further purposes and are normally installed directly by the holder or operator of the website. They can be divided into:
- browsing or session cookies, which guarantee the normal browsing and use of the site (allowing user for example, to make a purchase or authenticate itself to access reserved areas); they are in fact necessary for the proper operation of the site;;
• analytics cookies, similar to technical cookies when used directly by the site operator to collect information, in aggregate form, on the number of users and how they visit the site itself, in order to improve the performance of the site;
• functionality cookies, which allow the user to browse according to a series of selected criteria (for example, the language, products selected for purchase) in order to improve the service provided to the same user. The installation of such cookies does not require the prior consent of users (for more information refer to the paragraph on Cookie Management shown below).
Profiling cookies
Profiling cookies are used to create user profiles and to send advertising messages in line with the preferences expressed by the user when browsing the web.
